2019 – concept

Most kettles fail because out of one of the following reasons: there are hard to clean, the mechanical hinges break easily (over-engineering), electronics are part of the cooking vessel (one thing breaks, everything breaks), or they pollute our water with microplastics (up to 30.000 µg per boil up).

We aimed to design a kettle as elementary as possible, removing all hinges, separating the electronics form the cooking vessel, focusing on replaceable parts out of natural materials, like stone, glass, and iron. The induction coil is placed inside the stone base, heating an iron disc at the bottom of the glass vessel. Separated electronics make it the worlds first dishwasher safe electric kettle.
